Who Am I...

My name is Israel Carlos Lomovasky.I was born in Buenos Aires,Argentina in 1949. In 1972 I migrated to Israel with my parents and sisters .I lived in many cities and some kibbutzim since then(Acco,Haifa,Givataim,and now in Hetzlyia,and the kibutzim Gan Shmuel and Dafna).
My education was mostly in Industrial Engineering(BSc Technion,Haifa),in Maths and Economics(MSC in Operations Research from the London School of Economics and political sciences) and in planning(DSC in city and regional planning from the Architectural Faculty of the technion,Haifa).
While studying for my Doctor's degree in Urbanism I got painting equipment including anything needed to paint with oil as a present from some anonymous donor :the previous resident of my new rented apartment. Having the equipment I started trying to paint somehow and fall in love with the feel of creation. I engaged in friendships with several great painters, particularly with my good friend Zahava Lupo,whose contribution in my enthusiasm with painting I will never cease to cherish.In 2009 I discovered Shlomo Schwartz and got guidance from him which had a great impact on my artwork.The results of this relationship with the painter Shlomo Schwartz can be seen in my late 2009 and early 2010 work which would have never seen the light of the day without artist and friend influence.
My limitations of the naive untrained painter were obvious to everybody,and I did not see a way out of those shortcomings till I met the big painter,artist and friend Jacov Papo in early 2010.He made me fully aware of the limitations that only hard and long rigorous drawing ,painting and art training could possibly banish.He also agreed to be my mentor and teacher of the basics of drawing and painting,and immediately I started to train my eyes and my hands,my consciousness and senses to see reality as an artist,initiating a learning adventure that is still under way even as I write these words.I must mention the great painter Moris Manes that was instrumental to awaking my consciousness to the huge size of the task at hand if I was serious about becoming a painter.He was also the one that introduce me to my great teacher and mentor Jacov Papo.I continued taking painting lessons with Shlomo Schwartz,and I started taking landscape and abstract color painting lessons from the great painter Hellen Francis Attar.Now I am in the way to gain the tools required to become a professional artist and enjoy every minute of it.I stopped placing my new work in the web site because those are merely the exercises of a student.I will continue to post new work when it becomes professional and is a statement of quality.
I lived in London one year (1976-1977) and In New York city eight years(1984-1992)
I am divorced plus one.
I am a free-lance consultant in Operations Research and specialize in the stock market,as well as an art student.
My naive works appear in many design and art magazines and publications such as the front page of the Beauty and Truth poetry Journal summer 2010,the summer of 2009 issue of the literary journal MO:writings from the river,the Israel Interior Design Journal and many more.
My past naive works include oil on canvas paintings,as well as charcoal on paper drawings and mixed media that includes original drawings and paintings,photography and digital Art.
